Introduction
A volume instance provides key services to the edge nodes, such as storing the applications, storing data generated by the apps, and enabling apps on the same node to share data with each other. This article explains how to manage volume instances using the ZEDEDA GUI, including viewing, updating, and deleting them.

- You must have already created the volume instance.

View a Volume Instance
After you create volume instances, you can view them.
- Hover on the Library dropdown menu.
- Select Volume Instances from the options.
- Observe the list of instances and the Summary dropdown panel by clicking the expand icon (upper right).
- Click on one of your instances to see its details.
Delete a Volume Instance
After you create a volume instance, you can delete it when you no longer need it.
- Navigate to your Volume Instance list view and select an instance.
- From the status page for your chosen instance, click the ellipsis at upper right.
- Select Delete from the dropdown options.
- Confirm the deletion. A toast message will appear.
NOTE: Volume instances cannot be deleted if attached to more than one edge app instance.
