Integrate Your Enterprise with Rancher Orchestration

Introduction

This article describes how to integrate with Rancher for remote orchestration of your edge deployments. You add Rancher as a third-party integration and authenticate to it with an API token.

Rancher is an enterprise-scoped integration. It connects your entire enterprise to an external orchestration platform, so you configure it once under the enterprise's third-party integrations. 

Prerequisites

• You must have either the SysManager or SysAdmin role in your ZEDEDA Cloud enterprise.
• You have a Rancher API token for authentication.

Add the Rancher Integration

1. Go to Enterprise > Third Party Integrations.
2. Click the Add Integration card.
3. Select the Remote Orchestration category from the dropdown list.
4. Select Rancher from the dropdown list.
5. Enter the Host.
6. Enter the Port. 
7. Select API Token as the authentication type from the dropdown group list.
8. Enter your Rancher API token. 
9. Click Add. 

Verify the Configuration

1. Confirm the Rancher integration appears in the integrations list.
2. Confirm that Rancher can reach and orchestrate the connected edge resources.
