1. Release Notes Introduction
This note captures a consolidated list of release notes covering features completed on October 15, 2021. Because the features were released incrementally over a period of several months, most of these enhancements have already been deployed, so users will not see radical changes.
2. Release Features
2.1. Kubernetes Cluster Support (K3s)
- Cluster Instance Automatic Onboarding Support—Starting with ZEDEDA Release 6.8.0, users can automatically onboard a Rancher cluster from ZEDEDA. Previously a user had to manually create a cluster object on Rancher before it could be onboarded to ZEDEDA.
- Auto Network Instance Creation Support—Starting with ZEDEDA Release 6.8.0, while creating a cluster instance, the user can create a network instance that will automatically be applied to all devices in that cluster.
- Support for K3S Cluster Management Features—Starting with ZEDEDA Release 6.5.0, users can integrate Kubernetes infrastructure orchestration on edge nodes managed by ZEDEDA platform. The support enables complete lifecycle management of Kubernetes clusters on selected edge node groups. Monitoring and troubleshooting remote clusters is therefore possible within ZEDEDA. The user is given easy-to-use options to activate and deactivate a cluster. K3s-specific logs from each Edge Node in the cluster are also available to the user on ZEDEDA.
- Support for Cluster Instance Creation—Starting with ZEDEDA Release 6.1.0, ZEDEDA supports K3s cluster creation.

2.2. Volume Instance
- Support for Creating a Blank Storage in Volume Instances–Starting with ZEDEDA Release 6.11.0, users can create a blank volume on the edge node. The volume is available with or without application instance(s) using it. Bandwidth is not consumed when no application instance is using it, but it reduces operation execution time in this case.
- Persistent Volume Support—Starting with ZEDEDA Release 6.3.0, ZEDEDA supports block storage volume instances (local to the device).

2.4. Multi-Enterprise
- Support for Multi-Enterprise Login–Starting with ZEDEDA Release 6.14.0, once logged into ZEDEDA UI, the user can select between multiple enterprises. Users with access to multiple enterprises will land on a secondary login page which offers them a drop-down list of all accessible enterprises.

2.5. Terraform
- Support for Terraform–Starting with ZEDEDA Release 6.14.0, the Terraform Provider ZEDEDA CLOUD module allows users to manage their ZEDEDA CLOUD configuration. Terraform Provider ZEDEDA CLOUD is considered another user agent, like UI and CLI, written in Golang.
