Create and Manage a ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes App Flows Cluster Groupings Using the GUI

Introduction

A ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes App Flows Cluster Groupings is a collection of ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service Clusters that have been tagged with the same key:value pairs. The main reason to create a Cluster Grouping is for large-scale management of many clusters. Instead of managing individual nodes within a single cluster, as is common in data centers, this feature allows you to perform "fleet management" of clusters themselves. By using the same tags when you create your ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service Clusters, you can then select those tags to group multiple clusters together based on specific criteria like environment ("environment-group:production") or location ("location-group:us-west") and then manage them as a single entity.

Prerequisites

  • You have onboarded one or more edge nodes.
  • Your edge nodes are in the same Project.
  • Your edge nodes are in one or more ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service Clusters
  • Your Edge Kubernetes Service Clusters are tagged with the same Tag.
  • Your edge nodes are running the EVE-k v16.0.0 or greater (EVE-OS KVM is not supported).
  • 4GB minimum RAM and 2 CPU.

Add ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes App Flows Cluster Groupings

  6. Enter a Description to help other admins understand the purpose of the cluster or any important details.
  7. Enter keys and values for your Tags.
For example, you could tag them as “environment:production” or “criticality:high” or “location:us-west”.
  8. Click Next

Configure Selection

  1. Select the Tags that you configured when you created a ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service Cluster. If these tags do not match, they will not form a cluster group.

Review & Add

  1. Review the information.
  2. Click Add
